Captain Tom Jones

Captain of Patrol Tom Jones was appointed to his current position in 2005. His experience includes over 10 years of military service, with assignments spanning from Germany to Colorado. He started his career in law enforcement when he joined the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office in 1978, followed by the Oklahoma Park Rangers in 1980. In 1993 Tom Jones joined the ranks of the Tahlequah Police Department as a patrolman.

Captain Jones was named field training coordinator after being asked by the Chief to implement a field training program for the department in 2005. Upon completion, he attended the Reserve Academy Coordinators' School. In 2006, he helped to establish the Tahlequah Police Department's first ever Reserve Academy. The 160 hour course not only included officers from the Tahlequah Area but also the surrounding areas. Of the eighteen graduates, seven, along with five pre-certified reserve officers, joined the ranks of the Tahlequah Police Department.

Captain Dale Glory

Detective Capt. Dale Lee Glory joined the Tahlequah Police Department as a patrolman in 1991 and served in that capacity for five years. In 1996, former Police Chief Norman Fisher assigned Dale Lee to the detective division and he continues to serve in that capacity. Glory was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2007 and to captain shortly after Police Chief Clay Mahaney took office in May 2009.

Glory is a lifelong Cherokee County resident and graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1981. His parents, Dale and Shirley Glory, continue to make their home just outside Tahlequah.

Glory has logged several hundred hours of law enforcement training including homicide investigation, narcotics investigations and the Oklahoma State Investigators training. He is a member of the Association of Oklahoma Narcotics Enforcers and the Tahlequah Fraternal Order of Police. He was previously honored as the Northeast District Officer of the Year.

In his years as an investigator he has worked on cases ranging from bicycle theft to homicide. He has worked with his fellow TPD officers and personnel from other jurisdictions to solve a large number of cases and recover several thousand dollars worth of stolen property. Glory is cross-deputized with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Cherokee Nation Marshal Service. He is married to the former Sonja Deerinwater and has three daughters and a son.
