Drug Abuse Resistance Education

A cooperative effort between law enforcement and schools, to teach students to resist drugs and violence.

The Tahlequah Police Department has four certified D.A.R.E. officers; Steven Arnall, Randy Jordan, Brian Stanglin, and Brad Robertson.  These officers teach the D.A.R.E. curriculum at all Tahlequah Public Schools as well as surrounding areas including Keys, Tenkiller, and Grandview Public Schools.  Lessons are taught in the first, third, fifth and seventh grades.  Some of the topics in the first and third grade lesson plans include: Personal Safety, How to Say No, and How to Handle Conflict.  Decision making is focused on heavily in the fifth grade curriculum, while the seventh grade lessons focus more on how to take charge of one's life.
