VOLUNTEERING FOR CITY BOARDS
AND OTHER SERVICE PROJECTS
The City of Tahlequah welcomes citizens who are interested in contributing their time and effort to assist with the decisions and operations of our city government. Opportunities for appointments to city boards, commissions, and committees occur from time to time as resignations take place, as regular terms expire, and as other city project needs arise. Eligibility requirements include residency in the city limits, and for many positions, residency from specific wards of the city. Appointments are typically made by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
If you have an interest in making a contribution as a volunteer board member or simply helping with a community improvement project, then please print and complete the application form provided below. An overview of the duties and regular terms of office for city advisory boards is shown on this page.
Applications may also be obtained from the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 111 S. Cherokee Avenue. Completed and signed applications should be returned to the City Clerk; they will be forwarded to the Mayor for review and consideration.
In addition to serving on a board, commission, or committee, the City of Tahlequah welcomes any person interested in contributing their time to a city beautification or other improvement project. Such projects occur periodically and most involve modest amounts of manual labor such as painting, landscaping, parade traffic control, etc. If interested in joining our 'City's Volunteer Corps', please complete the application below and make sure to mark the appropriate line showing your interest as a volunteer for community service projects.
