New Statue Unveiled in Norris Park
'Billy and the Coon Dogs'

As part of the Annual Red Fern Festival, on Friday, April 25th, 2008, Mayor Ken Purdy unveiled the new statue, 'Billy and the Coon Dogs' at Norris Park in downtown Tahlequah.  Dean Anson, pictured below, is the artist of this statue that portrays the well loved character "Billy" from the book "Where the Red Fern Grows", and celebrates a sense of simpler times.
