TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Construction continues to progress on both West Fourth Street and Bluff Avenue as we move further into the summer months.
On West Fourth Street, work from Garner Drive to Graham Avenue is complete and ROSSCO continues to move west to apply aggregate base from Garner Drive to Rozell Avenue.
Residents can expect to see pavement from Garner Avenue to Chase Avenue on the north lane with expectations that both lanes will be complete in that section, barring any bad weather, in approximately three weeks.
Both City officials and ROSSCO continue to ask that residents adhere to all detour signs and be especially aware of the “no thru traffic” or “local traffic only” signage.
Bluff Avenue from Downing Street to Choctaw Street is complete and construction moving south from Choctaw Street has begun.
Officials said they are working to complete the sidewalks near the viaduct at Choctaw and once complete they will begin the grading and asphalt removing process as well as the retaining wall to go alongside the new sidewalk on the west side of Bluff Ave.
Streets that can be affected are Jo Street to First Street during this process and South Street to First Street will be local traffic only.
Completion dates continue to be on track for both construction projects. Both West Fourth Street and Bluff Ave. have late summer expectations to be finished, with West Fourth being around mid-September and Bluff Ave. approximately Sept. 1.
The City of Tahlequah appreciates your continued understanding throughout this construction process. For questions or concerns call Jami Murphy at 918-931-1803 or email email@example.com.
