Public Education

We can all help make the world a safer place by learning more about fire safety and education. The Tahlequah Fire Department provides the community public education by informing them basic fire safety tips and evacuation plans. They also offer tours of the station in an effort to inform residents of what services the fire department provides and how they continue to keep area resident safe during emergency situations.

Fire Safety Month

In October, the Tahlequah Fire Department educates thousands of area residents during Fire Safety month. The goal of Fire Safety Month is to educate and raise awareness, helping to ensure that your family has a fire safety plan.

The National Fire Protection Association recommends homes should have smoke alarms installed inside every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement.
